Referral Services
Referral services are offered to local Christian churches who
wish to provide volunteer "hands-on" help to the poor.
Church Care screens non-money situations referred by community
agencies - needs not addressed by the agency system. Those found
to be in compliance with network policy are referred to Christian
churches for their possible response to the requested assistance.

Screening Services
Screening services are offered to Christian churches in the
Indianapolis area. Individuals and families calling local participating
churches for financial help are referred to Church Care to be screened
for these three things:
- For truth - are the situations they relate which have led
them to seek financial help from the church true or false?
- For compliance - does the situation comply with the church
network's policy regarding requests for financial assistance?
- For possibility - regarding "hands-on" help, is
it a need that can be managed by volunteers?
Please note: Church Care does not take calls from the street,
and we do not accept referrals for need situations involving
rents and utilities from agencies or from churches not in the
church network.
Church Care volunteers take calls Monday - Thursday from participating
churches, agencies, and the people they refer. They process
the "needs" referred for screening and respond to
each as is deserved by the nature and truth (or not) of the
