What distinguishes Church Care from normative church ministries?
All church ministries have committees, committee heads,
committee members, committee meetings, committee agendas
and ongoing committee activities and projects. Church Care
affiliation requires none of these.
Individual Christians offer their particular God-given
gifts in service to their fellow parishioners and to Christ's
poor using the online sign up
in the Church Care web site. Volunteers simply register
themselves as available to serve in certain types of need
situations of their own choice - then they wait for the
call - a request to consider one of outreach services
they offered to consider. They become a part of a growing
"waiting" Christian volunteer resource - ready
to serve if and when called. If they, for whatever reason,
cannot respond this time there may be another time. If
they, for whatever reason, are not called or not called
often - the full value of the willing contribution of
self is not lost - not even diminished. It is the Christian's
business just to be available. It's God's business to
call him/her when He wants them. Learn more about the
"waiting" volunteer pool
and/or read our promises to
church volunteers.
E-requests (PDF 64k)from
the Church Care office for "hands-on" volunteer
care go directly to the volunteer. A narrative description
of the need situation is provided on the request form
as is all contact information. The volunteer/s, if the
request is accepted, makes direct contact with the person
or family in need, does the job, then reports back to
Church Care - and so another Love
Story.
